Privacy Policy for Safer Clean

1. Introduction

Safer Clean (referred to as "the App," "we," "our," or "us") is a photo and video management tool designed to help you organize, clean up, and compress media files on your iOS device.

We take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information when you use Safer Clean.

2. How Safer Clean Works

With your permission, Safer Clean accesses the photos, videos, and related metadata that iOS makes available to the App. The App uses this access to identify duplicate or similar media, show large items, organize your library, and create compressed copies when you ask it to do so.

Photo and video analysis and compression are performed on your device. Under this local-first design, your photo and video content, thumbnails, metadata, and scan results are not uploaded to us or sent to an external artificial intelligence provider.

Safer Clean does not automatically delete your content. You review and confirm deletion or compression actions. Items deleted through the iOS Photos framework may remain in Apple's Recently Deleted album, and media may sync through iCloud according to your Apple settings. Those features are controlled by Apple, not by Safer Clean.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

Information that stays only on your device and is not transmitted to us is not collected by us. Under the local-first design described above, we do not collect:

The contents of your photo or video library, including thumbnails and compression results.
Photo or video metadata, scan results, duplicate or similarity groups, or your deletion decisions.
Facial templates or other biometric identifiers derived from your media.
Your contacts, email inbox, precise location, health data, advertising identifier (IDFA), or activity across other companies' apps and websites.

4. Limited Information We May Receive

We may receive limited information in the following situations:

Support information: Your email address, message, screenshots, and other details you choose to send when contacting us.
Purchase information: Subscription product, entitlement status, transaction reference, and purchase or refund dates provided by Apple when needed to provide paid features or purchase support.
Diagnostics: App version, iOS version, device model, crash information, and performance data that Apple makes available when you enable sharing with app developers, or that you choose to send to support.

5. How We Use Information

We use the limited information described above to:

Provide App features and manage subscription access.
Fix errors, improve performance, and protect the App and related services from fraud or misuse.
Comply with applicable legal obligations and protect our rights.

6. Your Permissions and Choices

Photos: You can change or remove the App's photo library access in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos > Safer Clean.
Subscriptions: You can manage or cancel a subscription through your Apple Account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
Diagnostics: You can manage Apple's sharing settings in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.

If you deny or limit photo library access, some features of Safer Clean may not function properly.

7. Data Retention and Security

Local scan results and temporary files remain on your device until they are cleared by the App, removed by iOS, or you delete the App.

Information sent to us, such as support messages, purchase-support records, diagnostics, privacy requests, and security logs, is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy or as required by law. We then delete or de-identify it where appropriate.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

You should review all suggested deletions and keep appropriate backups of important photos and videos. Safer Clean is not responsible for content that you intentionally delete after confirming an action in the App.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request:

Access to personal information we hold about you.
Correction of inaccurate personal information.
Deletion of your personal information.
Restriction of or objection to certain processing.

Because most Safer Clean information stays on your device, we may not have any photo, video, metadata, scan, or compression information to provide or delete.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the App, our practices, technology, or applicable law.
